This series of works is based on the original concept put forward by the French animator Thomas Astruc. He conceived a superhero symbolized by ladybugs, and took the black cat represented by ladybugs as his partner. He originally wanted to create cartoons on this theme. After cooperating with Jeremy Zag, the two decided to make this series into an animation. In 2010, it was announced that the French production groups Univergroup Pictures and Onyx Films hosted this project, and cooperated with Method Animation and Zagtoon.
The plaintiff is ZAG Company of the United States, which owns the trademark Miraculous and the copyright of the ladybug girl image. Among them, the word “Miraculous” means “incredible and miraculous” in Chinese. In addition, any work that uses the images of ladybug girls will be regarded as infringement.
