Preface: In recent years, some law firms in the United States have maliciously sued some Chinese merchants on American e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Wish, and AliExpress, and used relevant US legal provisions to evade the delivery rules of the Hague Convention on Delivery, in order to obtain a default judgment without sufficient knowledge of the merchants, thereby deducting the seller’s account funds, making it difficult for Chinese sellers to go to sea.

Seller’s dilemma:

• Most sellers are first-time and helpless in the face of cross-border legal cases
• The account funds have been frozen, resulting in insufficient cash flow and the inability to further carry out business (some sellers’ only stores have been frozen)
• 21 day deadline on legal documents, time is tight
• There are many difficulties in contacting and hiring local lawyers in the United States on their own, such as trust issues (without domestic platform guarantees), communication issues, time difference issues, professional issues, and legal time costs incurred by ordinary sellers communicating with American lawyers

The Maijia Support Platform is composed of an internet team, intellectual property team, and selected partner law firms/lawyers. We focus on providing legal aid services for cross-border e-commerce sellers and have established long-term and stable partnerships with dozens of Chinese and local law firms that have established branches in the United States over the years. Maijia’s legal team consists of 9 members of the American Bar Association (ABA) and 13 members of the Chinese American Bar Association, including one who participated in the founding of the American Bar Association Journal. Our cooperating lawyers have practice licenses (available for trial) in the following major infringement states: Illinois (IL), Florida (FL), California (CA) In 16 states including New York (NY), some lawyers have practice licenses in multiple states. The number of Mackay cooperative lawyers and their availability in court are dynamically changing. According to the Mackay cooperative lawyer rules, we will conduct evaluations every quarter. Lawyers who do not comply with the rules will terminate their cooperation. Currently, the platform’s resident lawyers mainly accept recommendation from lawyers, and some outstanding American lawyers/Chinese American lawyers can also recommend themselves.
