The court questions venue in the northern district of Illinois, even after reviewing the allegations in the complaint concerning availment of the "Illinois market." The Complaint alleges that Plaintiff is a Chinese business with its principal place of business in China, and that one Defendant resides in Slovenia and the other in Florida. The enforcement actions at issue are taking place on Amazon, located in Seattle, Washington. But the product at issue, a satin hair bonnet, is or was listed for sale, literally, everywhere that there is internet access. Plaintiff should be prepared to explain the propriety of the venue in this district given that the case involves a Chinese citizen plaintiff suing an alleged Slovenian owned corporate entity, with more apparent connections to States such as Washington and perhaps Florida.
